A Seaside Story

One sunny afternoon, I decided to go to the seaside. It was a beautiful day, with clear skies and gentle waves. I packed some snacks and a notebook, ready for a fun day by the beach.

As I walked along the promenade, the sea breeze filled the air, and the sound of the waves soothed my soul. I sat down on a smooth rock and opened my notebook. I wanted to write about what I saw around me. The golden sands stretched out before me, and the blue waves crashed against the shore. I wrote down everything I could see: the birds flying high in the sky, the seagulls searching for food in the water, and the tiny fish darting between the rocks.

Suddenly, I noticed a small starfish washed ashore. It was pink and shiny, and I carefully picked it up. I wrote about this special discovery in my notebook. But as I was writing, I heard the waves getting closer. I looked up and saw the water rising around me. I quickly grabbed my notebook and ran towards the shore.

The waves were coming faster now, and I had to hold onto my notebook tightly. Just as I reached the sand, the water rushed in and carried me back towards the sea. I struggled to hold onto my notebook, but the waves were too strong. With a heavy heart, I watched as the notebook floated further and further away.

I felt so sad. I had worked so hard on that English writing assignment, and now it was gone. But then, I remembered the starfish I had held in my hands. Maybe the waves would carry it back to the sea, and somehow, my notebook might return to me too.

Hours later, as the tide began to go out, I saw my notebook lying on the sand. The pages were slightly wet, but when I opened it, I was relieved to see that the ink hadn’t smeared. The starfish was still there, sitting next to the title I had written: "A Seaside Story."

From that day on, I learned to never give up. Even if things seem lost, there’s always a chance they might come back to you. And more than anything, I learned to appreciate the beauty of the sea and the stories it can tell.
